ServicesStorm Damage Repair

Storm Damage Repair in Blanchard

After hail or high wind, we walk every slope of your roof, mark and photograph what the storm broke, and tell you plainly whether a targeted repair will hold or the damage is widespread enough to justify a new roof. You get the facts before anyone files a claim.

What we fix after a storm

You seldom see storm damage from the street. Hail cracks the fiberglass mat inside an asphalt shingle and strips away the granules that protect the asphalt from UV. Wind raises tabs, breaks the factory seal strip and folds the shingle at the nail line. Either kind can seem small in April and be leaking by next winter.

We sort true storm damage from ordinary aging and then repair it the right way. Many storms only hit one or two slopes, and repairing those areas is the reasonable choice. If bruising covers the entire roof, or your shingle line is no longer made and patches would stand out, we show you the evidence and explain why replacement is the better option.

Our Oklahoma residential roofing license and Oklahoma general contractor license put the repair and any related exterior work under a single contractor who answers for all of it.

What the work includes

  1. 01

    Slope-by-slope damage survey

We inspect each roof plane, marking hail hits in chalk and checking for soft spots, fractured mats and exposed asphalt. Wind-lifted and creased shingles get flagged separately because they are repaired differently.

  2. 02

    Soft metal and accessory check

Dents in ridge vents, pipe boots, drip edge and gutters show how large the hail was and which direction it came from. That pattern helps confirm the damage to your shingles is storm-related.

  3. 03

    Dated photo documentation

You get clear photos of every damaged area with close-ups and wide shots. These help you and your insurance adjuster see the same thing we saw.

  4. 04

    Shingle and flashing repair

We pull damaged shingles and install new ones, re-seal lifted tabs with roofing cement, and reset or renew bent step flashing and vent collars. New shingles are nailed to the manufacturer's pattern so they resist the next wind event.

  5. 05

    Temporary protection when needed

If a storm has opened the roof deck, we tarp and batten the area to keep water out until permanent repairs are scheduled.

  6. 06

    Cleanup and magnetic sweep

We collect old shingles and debris and run a magnet across the lawn and driveway for stray nails before we leave.

Signs your roof took storm damage

  • Granules piling at the downspouts

A sudden pile of dark grit at the bottom of your downspouts after hail means shingles lost their protective surface. Exposed asphalt breaks down quickly in summer sun.

  • Dents on vents and gutters

If hail dented soft metal on the roof or your gutters, it hit your shingles just as hard. The dents are easy to see from the ground.

  • Missing or flipped shingles

Tabs lying in the yard or folded back on the roof mean the seal strip failed. Neighboring shingles are often creased even if they stayed in place.

  • Fresh stains on a ceiling

A brown ring on drywall or damp insulation in the attic after a storm usually leads back to a cracked shingle, lifted flashing or a split pipe boot.

  • Dark, circular spots on shingles

Hail bruises show as round marks where granules are gone. Pressing one may feel soft, a sign the mat underneath is fractured.

How a storm repair job runs

  1. 1

    Phone call and scheduling

Give us the date of the storm and anything you have spotted, such as grit in the downspouts or a new ceiling stain. We book an inspection, and if water is already getting inside, temporary protection comes first.

  2. 2

    Roof inspection and photos

We go on the roof, document damage on each slope and check the attic deck for moisture. You see the photos and hear whether a repair will do the job or a new roof is the better use of your money.

  3. 3

    Line-item estimate and claim guidance

Every part of the job is priced on paper, item by item. If you file a claim, we walk you through the usual steps and can meet the adjuster on site to point out damage, but the claim decision stays between you and your insurer.

  4. 4

    Repair day

Most storm repairs take a day or less. We protect landscaping, remove damaged material, check the decking below, install new shingles and flashing, then clean up.

  5. 5

    Final walkthrough

We show you the finished work and photos of anything we found once old shingles came off, such as soft decking.

What sets the price of a storm repair

Cost follows how much of your roof the storm hit and what turns up below the shingles. We build the price from our inspection, item by item, so you can line it up against your insurance estimate. If we find hidden decking damage, you see it before we do any added work.

How far the damage spreads
A few creased tabs on one slope take little material and a short visit. Bruises across several roof planes call for more shingles, more underlayment and a longer day.
Whether your shingle is still made
When your shingle line is still in production, a repair stays practical. A discontinued color or profile can shift the job toward partial or full replacement.
State of the decking
Where water got into the plywood or OSB, the soft areas are cut out and replaced with new sheathing before any shingles go down.
Roof pitch and access
Steep slopes need roof jacks, harness anchors and slow, careful footing, which adds labor. Second-story eaves and tight side yards also add time on site.
Vents, boots and flashing
Each dented vent, cracked pipe boot or bent piece of flashing is replaced separately, and each one adds to the price.

Storm damage repair questions

Will insurance pay for my storm damage?

Coverage comes down to your policy terms, the size of your deductible and the adjuster's findings. We document the damage and explain what we see, but we do not act as your adjuster or promise a claim outcome. Many homeowners find the photos make the conversation with their insurer much clearer.

Do I need a whole new roof after hail?

Not always. If the hail hit one or two slopes and matching shingles are available, a repair is often the right call. When bruising covers most of the roof or the mat is fractured widely, we will explain why our Roof Replacement service is the better fit and show you the damage.

How soon should I have the roof checked after a storm?

Within a few weeks is wise. Hail damage can take months to show as a leak, and many policies set time limits for reporting. An early look also catches lifted shingles before the next wind pulls them off.

Can you check my gutters at the same time?

Yes. We look at gutters and downspouts during every storm inspection because dents and pulled hangers are common after hail and wind. If they need work, we can include it, and our Gutters page covers that service.

Do you handle storm damage on commercial buildings?

We do. We hold an Oklahoma commercial roofing license, and our Commercial Roof Repair page explains how we approach low-slope and commercial roofs after a storm.
